So I wondered, what's the reason she only told me to shower, and yelling at me when I didn't go right away, when brother hasn't showered, was the reason we came home so late, and was doing the exact same thing I was?
It's not like he regularly showers and brushes his teeth like me.
It's not like he's more often quick to follow our mother's orders than me.
It's not like he's more respectful than me.
It's not like he plays games less than me.
It's not like he sleeps earlier and wakes up earlier than me.
It's not like he does more housework/yardwork than me.
It's not like his room is any cleaner than mine.
It's not like he doesn't throw temper tantrums when/if mom yells at him.
It's not like he's more mature than me.
It's not like he does better in school than me.
It's not like he's more particularly talented than me.
It's not like he spends less money than me.
It's not like he's more willing to get work than me.
It's not like he's less picky about food than me.
So what is it?
Is it because he's a college student?
Is it because he's the son and I'm the daughter?
My mother has told me a few times before that she loves me and doesn't want to yell at me or hit me. I'll willingly believe the former, but have a few doubts about the latter.
I've heard from quite a few people from when I've made similar rants, that my mother cares about me and wants the best for me. That my brother is the "test child" and said that they don't want to mess up on me like they did on him (somewhat jokingly of course).
Yeah, I know. But it doesn't make it hurt any less.
